SEOUL, Feb. 19 (Korea Bizwire) — Samsung is set to convene a large-scale executive seminar as the company navigates a complex landscape of internal and external challenges.
According to industry sources, the South Korean conglomerate will hold a special training program titled “Value Education for Restoring Samsung’s Identity” from late February through April. The event, organized by the Samsung Leadership Development Center, will bring together approximately 2,000 executives, including vice presidents and lower-ranking officials from all subsidiaries, for a full-day session at the center’s Hoam Hall in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.
This marks the first time in nine years that Samsung has conducted a company-wide executive seminar. Between 2009 and 2016, the company held annual leadership sessions aimed at reinforcing managerial vision and responsibility.
The seminar comes at a critical juncture for Samsung as it faces mounting pressures across multiple business sectors. Samsung Electronics, the group’s flagship unit, has struggled with sluggish sales in legacy semiconductor memory and delays in the supply of high-bandwidth memory (HBM), falling short of market expectations. Meanwhile, the company is experiencing a decline in its global market share in both televisions and smartphones.
The initiative is widely seen as an effort to reinforce executive accountability and strategic focus as Samsung seeks to overcome these challenges.
Samsung Chairman Lee Jae-yong, in his 2022 corporate message titled “A Challenge for the Future,” articulated his vision for the company, emphasizing its role in pioneering new technologies and shaping the future.
“A company that turns dreams and imagination into reality, one that continuously opens new frontiers, and enriches human society with groundbreaking innovation—this is our united vision for the future of Samsung,” Lee stated. He urged executives and employees alike to strive toward making Samsung a truly world-class company beloved by both the Korean public and the global community.
