SEOUL, July 5 (Korea Bizwire)South Korea’s Samsung Electronics ranks as the most reputable technology company in the United States, a report showed Sunday, on the back of its strong products and services appealing to American consumers.

Samsung, the world’s largest smartphone maker, has topped such tech peers as Microsoft, Google and Intel in terms of products and services, citizenship and governance, according to the report by U.S.-based corporate appraiser Reputation Institute. Samsung ranked eighth last year.

Hewlett-Packard placed second, followed by Microsoft, Google and SAP. Rounding out the top 10 were Intel, NCR, Adobe Systems, Texas Instruments, Toshiba and Salesforce.com.

Apple, the biggest market-cap company and Samsung’s archrival, slipped two notches to rank 21st.

The report is based on a survey of 27,000 Americans and covers seven factors: products and services, innovation, workplace, governance, citizenship, leadership and financial performance.

Samsung led Apple in the governance, citizenship and products categories this year, while Apple beat Samsung in innovation, according to the report.
