SEOUL, Dec. 11  (Korea Bizwire) – Facing mounting global and domestic economic challenges, Samsung Electronics is reportedly planning to reduce smartphone production for 2025, including its upcoming Galaxy S25 series.

According to industry insiders, the company has set its production target at approximately 229.4 million units for next year, a decrease of about 10 million units from the 237 million initially projected in October.

The adjustment reflects caution amid ongoing global economic downturns and domestic instability.

Samsung declined to confirm the specifics, with a company representative stating, “We do not disclose production and sales targets externally.”

Despite the trimmed production goals, Samsung aims to maintain its competitive edge by integrating advanced artificial intelligence into its smartphones.

The Galaxy S25, scheduled for unveiling at a late January “Unpacked” event, will feature upgraded AI capabilities powered by the latest One UI 7, which is currently in beta testing.

The anticipated launch underscores Samsung’s continued efforts to innovate and adapt to shifting market conditions.
