SEOUL, Nov. 3 (Korea Bizwire) – Samsung Electronics declared its intentions to stay competitive in the global race for next-generation technologies like artificial intelligence by launching Samsung Research, company representatives said on November 2.
The issued statement read, “The DMC R&D Center, which oversees advanced research initiatives within the finished products division, and the Software R&D Center have been brought under one roof and reestablished as Samsung Research.”
The newly launched organization will be in charge of 24 research hubs worldwide manned by 20,000 employees. President Kim Hyeon-seok from the consumer electronics division has been tapped to lead Samsung Research.
Besides AI, Samsung Research’s objectives will be to further the development of technologies like internet of things (IoT) and web security systems.
