SEOUL, Oct. 24 (Korea Bizwire) – Samsung Electronics is broadening the linguistic reach of its Galaxy AI system, adding four new languages to bring the total number of supported languages to 20.
The tech giant announced that Dutch, Romanian, Swedish, and Turkish will join the existing roster of 16 languages, which already includes Korean, Simplified Chinese, English, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai, Vietnamese, Arabic, Indonesian, and Russian.
Users of Galaxy AI-compatible devices can access the new languages through their settings app starting from late October. The AI features are available across a wide range of Samsung devices, including the Galaxy Fold6, Flip6, Fold5, Flip5, Fold4, Flip4, S24 series, S23 series, S22 series, S24 FE, S23 FE, Tab S10 series, Tab S9 series, and Tab S8 series.
Galaxy AI’s suite of language features includes several innovative tools designed to break down communication barriers. These include real-time call interpretation, face-to-face conversation translation displayed on split or dual screens, chat assistance, note translation and organization, voice-to-text conversion with immediate translation capabilities, and webpage translation.
Samsung is continuing to refine its AI language models through its global R&D centers, focusing not just on linguistic accuracy but also on cultural understanding. Before release, each language model undergoes both quantitative evaluation of linguistic features and grammar, as well as qualitative assessment of cultural knowledge and understanding.
The company emphasized that Galaxy AI’s expanded language support aims to facilitate seamless communication and creative activities across linguistic boundaries. More detailed information about the development of Galaxy AI’s language models can be found in the Samsung Newsroom series “Galaxy AI Global Research Lab.”
