SEOUL, March 4 (Korea Bizwire) Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S25 Ultra, has been ranked as the best smartphone by consumer advocacy organizations in five major European countries, the company announced on Monday.

According to Samsung, the Galaxy S25 Ultra secured the top spot in consumer evaluations conducted by Italy’s Altroconsumo, Spain’s OCU, Belgium’s Test Achats, Sweden’s Råd & Rön, and Portugal’s DECO Proteste. The rankings, based on extensive performance and durability tests, were finalized following the phone’s launch on February 7, with results published starting February 17.

In Spain’s OCU review, the Galaxy S25 Ultra received an overall score of 84, making it the highest-rated smartphone. It was followed by its predecessor, the Galaxy S24 Ultra (score: 83), and the Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max (score: 82). Italy’s Altroconsumo delivered similar results, placing the Galaxy S25 Ultra at the top with 84 points, ahead of the Galaxy S24 Ultra (83) and iPhone 16 Pro Max (82).

The smartphone’s durability, performance, and AI-powered features were widely praised. OCU highlighted its rugged build quality, noting that it passed drop tests without issues. The review also commended the device’s high-end performance, making it ideal for gaming and multitasking.

Italy’s Altroconsumo emphasized the advanced AI capabilities, stating that the phone performed exceptionally well in benchmark tests. The publication also lauded its top-tier camera quality, describing its photo and video output as the best among smartphones.

Meanwhile, DECO Proteste in Portugal called the Galaxy S25 Ultra the most powerful flagship smartphone, outperforming competitors with its 6.9-inch display’s touch responsiveness and brightness.

Consumer advocacy organizations in Europe, which conduct independent testing on product performance and pricing, have a significant influence on purchasing decisions. Samsung’s strong showing in these rankings underscores the company’s continued leadership in the premium smartphone market, solidifying its position against Apple and other competitors.
