SEOUL, Nov. 10 (Korea Bizwire) – The Samsung “Gear S,” the latest smart wearable device launched on November 5 by Samsung Electronics, has been sold more than 10,000 on the first day. Sold through SK Telecom and KT, the Gear S saw its blue color models run out on the first day and the white color ones on the next day.
Industry experts figured that the actual sales number would be much higher than 10,000 because SK Telecom held a promotional event to give a discount deal to the first 10,000 buyers on an online shopping mall.
Samsung said the popularity may have stemmed from the fact that it has made special efforts to mount a variety of apps to improve user convenience. For example, its new navigator app is reported to be totally different from the ones before in terms of convenience. “EngcaVoca Watch,” an English language learning app, and “SeeOn,” a location-based social networking service, are attracting the gadget lovers’ attention.
