SEOUL, Feb. 19 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean electronics makers said Tuesday they will present advanced home appliances at a U.S. kitchen and bath trade show to target the premium home appliances market.
Samsung Electronics Co. said it will join hands with Dacor, a luxury American home appliance brand, to showcase a suite of built-in appliances and Internet-of-Things (IoT) solutions at the 2019 Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS) in Las Vegas from Feb. 19-21.
The South Korean tech giant acquired Dacor in 2016 to bolster its home appliance division.
Samsung will exhibit its latest Chef Collection lineup of refrigerators, cook tops, ovens and dish washers, as well as new washing machines and its garment care appliance.
It will also highlight its home IoT solutions, featuring its Family Hub refrigerator and artificial intelligence speaker Galaxy Home.
Samsung’s smaller local rival, LG Electronics Inc., said it will showcase a broad selection of premium built-in lineup, including wine refrigerators, wine cellars and cook tops, during the three-day trade show.
LG said its Wi-Fi-connected smart appliances are paired with Amazon Dash, the U.S. online retail behemoth’s automatic replenishment program. With Amazon Dash, the smart devices can automatically reorder dishwasher soap, laundry detergent and dryer sheets for the users.
The Korean company also displayed LG Homebrew, a capsule-based craft beer making machine, which debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show last month.
The consumer electronics company said it will strengthen partnerships with leading IT companies during the KBIS to develop unique home appliance solutions.
