SEOUL, Aug. 26 (Korea Bizwire) – Samsung Electronics Co. and LG Electronics Inc. will showcase their latest developments, gadgets and smart home appliances at next month’s consumer electronics fair in Berlin, according to company officials on Friday.
The annual IFA fair, to be held in Berlin from Sept. 2-7, will bring together about 240,000 participants from around the world.
The weeklong exhibition “will offer a great platform for professionals working in the field of consumer electronics and home appliances to exchange knowledge, experience and the latest advancements,” organizers said on the fair’s website.
Samsung geared up for the launch of its Gear S3 smartwatch during the fair.
Details about the new smartwatch were not disclosed, but an invitation sent by Samsung earlier this month for the launch showed a watch face with the caption saying “Talk about 3.”
Samsung also plans to display high-end refrigerators that are connected with other devices via the so-called Internet of Things (IoT) technology.
“We will focus on technologies and products that are compatible with the IoT during the IFA,” a Samsung official said.
The IoT technology, which connects objects to the Internet and allows them to send and receive data, is seen as a key evolution.

Among the new products to be displayed by Samsung is a smart washing machine.

In addition, the new machine enables users to deodorize their clothes with heated air, using a technology called “Air Wash.”

Besides finished goods, LG plans to expand shipments of its components to European manufacturers by displaying electronics parts during the fair.
“We plan to supply core parts, which have been installed in our own products, to other home-appliance makers,” an LG official said.
