SEOUL, Nov. 11 (Korea Bizwire) – Leading South Korean electronics makers received several awards for their innovative products across a wide variety of categories from the host of the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the companies said Friday.

Samsung Electronics Co., South Korea’s top tech company, said it received 35 CES 2017 Innovation Awards from the Consumer Technology Association, which hosts the annual CES in Las Vegas.

Samsung’s award-winning products include TVs, mobile phones, home appliances, memory chips, wearables and computer technology.

LG Electronics Inc., the nation’s second-largest electronics maker, also said it won 21 CES 2017 Innovation Awards.

LG earned awards in 11 categories, including home appliances, home audio & video components, wireless handsets, wireless accessories and video displays.

It marks the fifth consecutive year that LG’s OLED TVs and flagship smartphones have received the recognition, the company said.

Products are judged by a panel of independent industrial designers, engineers and members of the trade media to evaluate consumer electronics products across 28 categories.

The award-winning products of the two companies will be on display at CES 2017, which takes place from Jan. 5-8, 2017, in Las Vegas, they said.
