SEOUL, Feb. 5 (Korea Bizwire) – Samsung debuted an LED theater display for Chinese moviegoers in Shanghai on Sunday.
Samsung’s first LED cinema screen in partnership with the world’s largest theater operator, Wanda Group, premiered at Wanda’s Wujiaochang theater over the weekend, following in the footsteps of Seoul, Busan, Bangkok, and Zurich.
The High Dynamic Range LED screen boasts 4K resolution and stretches 10.3 meters in width and 4.5 meters in height with peak brightness levels nearly 10 times higher than traditional cinema displays, which Samsung explains is far better at delivering the original intention of moviemakers in its truest form.
“Through Cinema LED, we are confident that consumers in China will embrace the opportunity to engage with their favorite films like never before, and are thrilled to partner with Wanda Cinemas to bring this advanced technology to this growing market,” said Seog-gi Kim, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.
Samsung is set to launch another cinema LED screen in China, this time in Beijing, with Wanda Group sometime this year.
