SEOUL, July 16 (Korea Bizwire) — Samsung Group ranked 12th among international business brands in terms of generation of sustainability-related value this year, an industry report showed Wednesday.

According to the report from Brand Finance, a British brand valuation consulting agency, Samsung’s sustainability perceptions value (SPV) for 2025 came to US$7.9 billion, up 17.7 percent from a year earlier. The group ranked highest among South Korean brands.

Created by the consulting agency, SPV is a metric that quantifies added monetary value for brands stemming from their various sustainability-related efforts.

Samsung’s position in the index reflects not only the international recognition of its sustainability efforts but also the company’s continued investments in environment, governance and social responsibility areas, Brand Finance explained.

Among other South Korean brands, Hyundai Motor Group ranked 18th, with its SPV valued at $5.8 billion.

SK Group, which owns chipmaker SK hynix Inc., and LG Group, which owns electronics firm LG Electronics Inc., ranked 72nd and 86th, respectively. U.S. tech giant Apple Inc. claimed the top spot, with its SPV recorded at $38.9 billion.
