SEOUL, May 7 (Korea Bizwire) —Samsung Electronics announced on Saturday that its SmartThings Find service, which assists users with locating electronic devices, has reached over 300 million registered devices in just 30 months.
SmartThings Find was launched in October 2020 and has enabled Galaxy users to easily find devices such as smartphones and tablets. Samsung Electronics revealed that the service has added 100 million devices in just 10 months since it surpassed 200 million in July 2021.
SmartThings Find also allows users to locate non-electronic items like keys and bags by attaching a Galaxy Smart Tag to them. User data is encrypted and protected by Samsung Knox, while the device’s location data is only shared with others with the user’s permission.
Each user’s device ID is changed every 15 minutes and stored anonymously, ensuring data privacy. A Samsung representative said that SmartThings Find is one of the company’s fastest-growing services and continues to be in high demand, adding that the more registered devices they have, the more powerful the user experience will be.
