SEOUL, July 28 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korea’s top tech giant Samsung Electronics said Tuesday it has commenced sales of its second flip-style smartphone in line with its struggles to diversify its handset portfolio amid ailing sales. The Galaxy Folder, which boasts a 3.8-inch display, will come in two editions that run on the third-generation and long-term evolution (LTE) networks.
It will also come with 8-megapixel and 2-megapixel cameras on the back and front, respectively, along with a 1,800 mAh detachable battery. ”The folding-style design combined with smartphone features, including the Internet, messenger and social networking services, will add to the device’s convenience,” Samsung said, adding it is recommended for those unfamiliar with typical smartphones.
The price tag on the Galaxy Folder stands at 297,000 won (US$254.24). Samsung has not yet revealed the overseas launch schedule for the device.
