SEOUL, June 3 (Korea Bizwire) - As countdown to the much anticipated Brazil World Cup begins, Samsung Electronics is eyeing growing excitement in the run-up to one of the world’s largest sporting events which are to be held in Brazil this month.
In an attempt to borrow successful marketing tactics from Amazon which is well known for its smash-hit guaranteed 24-hour-delivery service, Samsung announced it would offer a delivery service within 24 hours for the Samsung Curved UHD TV, which the tech powerhouse unveiled on May 7.
Apparently, Samsung’s quick-delivery service is aimed at consumers’ “impatience” to watch the big sporting games with a TV screen that’s as big as a living room wall; When a consumer purchase the TV before 7 pm on any weekday, the marketing-savvy brand will deliver the state-of-art UHD TV at your doorstep within 24 hours after the order is placed.
This “as quick as possible” offering makes sense given that most tournament games are scheduled to be held early in the morning — during the wee hours, you are able to enjoy the game right on the day of your purchase.
And Samsung bets big on sales of this new UHD TV model. As of the last week of May, the overall UHD TV sales had risen over 30 percent over the previous week. It’s expected that during the World Cup month of June, the sales might double or at least show one and a half times growth over that of May, said an official at Samsung Electronics.
