SEOUL, March 27 (Korea Bizwire) — The Korea Communications Commission announced on March 25 that it has partnered with Samsung Electronics and the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) to develop an artificial intelligence-based system for blocking malicious text messages, which will debut on the Galaxy S25 series.
The new security feature will automatically filter out suspicious messages, including potential “smishing” attempts — SMS-based phishing scams — by detecting malicious URLs and suspicious sender numbers. Users will retain the ability to selectively unblock messages that they determine to be legitimate.
Samsung plans to roll out this security capability first on its flagship Galaxy S25 series, with older Galaxy models set to receive the feature through the upcoming One UI 7 Android operating system update, according to the commission.
