SEOUL, Dec. 10 (Korea Bizwire) — Samsung Electronics will establish a major high-tech logistics center inside the H-Technovalley industrial complex in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, the city government said Tuesday, marking the company’s third domestic logistics base after facilities in Pyeongtaek and Gochang.
Hwaseong City signed an agreement with Samsung Electronics and H-Technovalley developer H Technovalley Co. to allocate 64,000 square meters of land within the industrial zone. Samsung plans to invest 2 trillion won, including land acquisition costs, to build what officials described as an advanced Central Distribution Center (CDC).
Unlike traditional warehouse facilities, the new CDC will be equipped with automated logistics systems, intelligent inventory management software and robot-assisted transport, creating a large-scale smart logistics hub designed to manage complex semiconductor and electronics supply flows with minimal manual handling.
H-Technovalley is a 736,000-square-meter industrial park under construction in Yo-dang Village in Hwaseong, designed as a cluster for semiconductor and automotive component manufacturers. Land compensation has been completed, and site development and industrial land sales are under way, with full completion targeted for 2028.
Hwaseong officials said Samsung’s logistics hub will accelerate the city’s transformation into a major industrial and logistics center in southern metropolitan Seoul, strengthening supply-chain competitiveness across the region.
“This agreement demonstrates that Hwaseong is the optimal partner for realizing corporate vision,” Mayor Jeong Myeong-geun said. “We will provide full administrative support to build a seamless business ecosystem where infrastructure and services operate in an integrated manner.”
