SEOUL, Feb. 15 (Korea Bizwire) — Samsung Electronics Co.’s Brazil office on Monday (local time) unveiled an online store-dedicated discount policy to promote the recycling of old home appliances.
The new program, dubbed EcoTroca, provides a discount coupon to consumers who return old home electronics as a way to encourage their disposal in a proper and sustainable manner, according to Samsung Brazil office.
Samsung offers a discount of 10 percent on the marked price of the products (up to 3,000 real) if customers buy home appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines or TVs through its online store and, at the same time, request the return of existing products.
Samsung emphasized that this campaign is part of its environmental, social and governance (ESG) management to ensure that the items returned are safely scrapped or recycled by state-recognized companies.
The company said that it will expand the scope of its ESG activity region in Latin America by starting the campaign in Brazil with the goal of expanding to Mexico, Argentina and Peru in the future.
