SEOUL, May 20 (Korea Bizwire) –Samsung Electronics unveiled the Galaxy Book4 Edge on May 21, offering more powerful artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities.
The Galaxy Book4 Edge is equipped with Samsung’s Hybrid AI, supporting both on-device AI and cloud AI.
Notably, through collaboration with Microsoft, it becomes the first Co-Pilot+ PC in the Galaxy Book series, providing an integrated cloud AI experience. The existing Co-Pilot function, previously operating solely on cloud AI, can now also be utilized based on on-device AI.
With on-device AI, users can leverage AI features while maintaining personal data security even in offline mode.
Additionally, the Recall feature allows users to easily search for previous work history at a specific point in time using natural language. Voice commands can be used for tasks such as setting mobile device alarms, searching contacts, or sending messages.
Furthermore, Qualcomm’s AI PC-dedicated processor, the Snapdragon X Elite, features a neural processing unit (NPU) capable of processing calculations at a speed of up to 45 trillion operations per second.
Roh Tae-moon, president of Samsung’s mobile division, stated, “The Galaxy Book4 Edge not only offers an experience that transcends the boundaries between mobile and PC, transforming daily life through AI technology, but also expands our vision and perspective on AI connectivity.”
The Galaxy Book4 Edge can connect to Galaxy smartphones via Link to Windows, enabling users to utilize the Galaxy AI features on both their smartphone and the laptop’s larger screen.
Other features include Live Caption, which provides real-time English subtitles for 44 foreign languages regardless of the app, and Co-Creator in Paint, which uses AI to transform simple sketches into artistic masterpieces.
Available in three models – one 14-inch and two 16-inch variants – the Galaxy Book4 Edge boasts a slim and lightweight design. The 16-inch model offers up to 22 hours of video playback and a fast-charging battery, making it highly portable.
It also features a high-resolution Dynamic AMOLED 2X touch display, with an anti-reflection coating reducing screen glare and Vision Booster automatically adjusting contrast and brightness in outdoor sunlight.
Security is enhanced with Samsung’s Knox security platform, along with Microsoft Windows 11′s security program and firmware advanced protection features included by default.
Global sales of the Galaxy Book 4 Edge, including South Korea, will commence on June 18, with pricing to be announced at a later date.
