SEOUL, Mar. 15 (Korea Bizwire) – Samsung Electronics announced the launch of its new Bespoke refrigerator models on March 14, featuring improved energy-saving capabilities powered by artificial intelligence (AI).

The 2024 Bespoke refrigerator series incorporates a next-generation digital compressor and an AI Energy Mode across all models, designed to reduce power consumption.

The next-generation digital compressor utilizes a structure that maximizes the use of inertia during motor operation, ensuring energy efficiency without compromising performance.

Samsung has also upgraded the AI Energy Mode based on the SmartThings platform. This feature predicts and adjusts usage in two stages, achieving an additional reduction of up to 23% in energy consumption based on actual usage.

In the first stage of AI Energy Mode, AI learning differentiates between when new items are added and when the interior is inspected, optimizing refrigerator operations and defrosting at the most efficient times.

The second stage employs smart temperature control to further conserve energy. Users can adjust the temperatures of the fridge and freezer compartments within the range that keeps food fresh, according to their preference.

Notably, the Bespoke refrigerator’s Family Hub model is equipped with an AI Vision Inside feature, which manages food items intelligently. It uses an internal camera to photograph and identify items placed on shelves or stored in the door, automatically generating a food list.

Leveraging vision AI and on-device AI technology, it can categorize and match up to 33 types of fresh foods.

Furthermore, the new refrigerator models boast features such as Precise Cooling and Metal Cooling to maintain the freshness of ingredients longer, customizable storage with seven temperature settings, a Beverage Center and Auto Dual Ice Maker for clean water and ice, and an Auto Open Door for easy access with a light touch.

Lee Moohyung, vice president of Samsung Electronics’ DA (Digital Appliances) Division, stated, “With the 2024 models, we aim to set a new standard in choosing refrigerators by combining Samsung’s core component technologies with our AI capabilities.”
