SEOUL, May 8 (Korea Bizwire) — In the competitive world of premium televisions, color clarity is everything. Samsung Electronics took a bold step forward this week, announcing that its latest lineup of QLED TVs has been officially certified for meeting international standards that define the very architecture of quantum dot display technology.
The certification, issued by Germany-based global testing authority TÜV Rheinland, verifies that Samsung’s QLED models adhere to the rigorous specifications set by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), specifically standard 62595-1-6.
The standard outlines a precise combination of a quantum dot light-converting layer paired with blue LED backlighting — a hallmark of authentic QLED displays.
At the heart of the certification lies what Samsung calls “Real Quantum Dot Display” technology — a benchmark that distinguishes true QLEDs from other displays that rely on less refined color-conversion materials.
According to TÜV Rheinland’s test results, Samsung’s QLED TVs demonstrated distinctly separated red, green, and blue wavelengths in their light spectrum, signaling enhanced color accuracy and spectral purity.
“This certification objectively validates that Samsung QLED TVs deliver true quantum dot performance built to international standards,” said Son Tae-yong, executive vice president of Samsung’s Visual Display division. “It reinforces our leadership in premium display technology and our commitment to earning consumer trust through transparency and innovation.”
Samsung emphasized that the spectral clarity achieved through its proprietary quantum dot materials minimizes color mixing — a common issue in alternative displays that can result in muted or inaccurate hues.
By preserving the integrity of each primary color, Samsung aims to offer viewers a more vibrant and lifelike picture, whether watching movies, sports, or high-definition streaming content.
As global demand for premium home entertainment surges, certification from TÜV Rheinland not only adds technical credibility but also strategic momentum. For Samsung, it’s not just a seal of quality — it’s a clear signal to consumers that their QLED TVs are engineered with precision and independently validated to meet the highest international benchmarks.
With this move, Samsung continues to sharpen its edge in the high-end TV market, where display performance, brand trust, and innovation remain the ultimate differentiators.
