SEJONG, July 22 (Korea Bizwire)The central administrative city of Sejong’s education office said Wednesday that it will establish a musical instrument sharing system between schools.

More than 26 different types of 374 musical instruments, including janggu (a traditional Korean drum), drums, marimbas and vibraphones will be available.

The listed musical instruments will be kept in a musical instrument storage room at a designated center after repair and maintenance.

Once a rental request is made, they will be sent to the school through a transport company and then returned after use.

The rental period will be six to 12 months. Short-term rental will also be possible on a case-by-case basis.

The education office expects the new system to contribute to cost savings as schools will no longer need to purchase as many musical instruments, and will promote musical education by making it easier for musical instruments to be used for after-school activities.
