SEOUL, Nov. 21 (Korea Bizwire)Seoul’s Seocho district announced on Tuesday that it will install Seoripul heated seats at 150 bus stops within the district for the convenience of local residents.

The heated seats, after series of test runs at 14 bus stops conducted last year, were redesigned to be 2.03 meters wide and 33 centimeters tall, with tempered glass and warm nano material that can be heated up to an average of 40 degrees Celsius.

Automatic switches and outdoor temperature sensors have also been added.

Coming in red, blue, and six other colors, the seats are inscribed with messages of encouragement, including “Cheer up!”, “Love you!”, and “Everything is going to be fine, because you’re a great person.”

Along with the heated seats, the district plans to expand the number of Seoripul igloos, heated tents for bus stops first revealed last year, to 70 tents.

“We hope that Seoripul heated seats, along with Seoripul heated tents, can keep citizens warm at least while they wait for the bus,” said Cho Eun-hee, head of the Seocho district office.

“Our district will continue to offer these little services that can support the everyday lives of our citizens.”
