SEOUL, Dec. 18 (Korea Bizwire) – A canvassing of more than 100,000 Seoulites opinions’ have resulted in the city’s affordable bike rental system earning the number one spot on a list of news topics pertaining to city development.
Starting last November 15, the city government asked 121,929 denizens about 30 key policies as part of its research to identify the top 10 major developments of 2017.
With 13,293 votes, the city’s bike sharing service ranked first. The system can be used via a smartphone app and is available at any time of the day. There are 1,028 bicycle parking racks located all over the city near subway stations, bus stops and residential complexes.
A close second was Seoul’s “Clean School Bathrooms” project with 12,779 votes, and Mapo’s Oil Tank Culture Park was third with 9,699 selections.
Rounding out the rest of the top five were the first ever discovery of video footage of Korean comfort women in fourth place, and a 10-point plan for dealing with fine dust air pollution in fifth.
