SEOUL, Jan. 3 (Korea Bizwire)Seoul’s city bus service set a new record for customer satisfaction in 2018, while customer ratings for the Airport Limousine bus service have dropped over the past four years due to long waits and expensive tickets.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on Wednesday that Seoul’s city bus service obtained 81.24 points on a customer satisfaction survey, the highest score ever since 2006 when Seoul began conducting the surveys.

The city’s town bus service scored 80.94 points, entering the 80s range for the very first time.

The city’s Airport Limousine bus service, on the other hand, scored 85.19 points, dropping 0.14 points from last year, marking the fourth consecutive year of a drop in customer satisfaction.

Seoul’s city bus and town bus services received exceptionally good reviews on convenience and a comfortable riding experience.

In particular, 9 out of 10 customers said the new policy that banned food on buses significantly improved the riding environment.

The Airport Limousine bus service scored higher than the city and town bus services in most areas, except for Operation and Services, where it scored 76.16 points, dropping by 7.46 points from last year.

Customers pointed out ‘long waits’ and ‘expensive tickets’ as points for improvement.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government, based on the results, will develop special measures to meet the needs of commuters.

“The results indicate that the limousine buses are not coping sufficiently with the increasing number of people accessing Incheon International Airport,” said a city official.

“We plan to consider measures that can bring down ticket prices for the Airport Limousine bus service.”
