SEOUL, Nov. 6 (Korea Bizwire) — Seoul city is introducing additional public bicycles with sturdier frames.
Seoul Metropolitan Government announced Thursday that it will increase the total number of public bicycles ‘Ddareungi’ up to 23,000 by the end of this year by introducing 8,000 new QR system bicycles that come with sturdier frames.
Among 8,000 additional bikes to be introduced, 2,000 will be slimmer, lighter models called the ‘Saessak Ddareungi’.
The city decided to expand the range of users by allowing anyone over 13 years old to access the public bike service.
The city also plans to replace old LCD public bikes with new models by 2022.
The new QR system bicycles, easier to rent and return, were first introduced in March of this year.
