SEOUL, Dec. 12 (Korea Bizwire) — The Seoul Digital Foundation, a digital arm of the Seoul city government, said Sunday it will open an online education platform to enable senior citizens to check their digital competency and get customized education recommendations.
The Edutech Campus, slated to be operated from Monday, enables senior trainees to instantly check the results if they answer in order the questions given to verify their level of digital competency.
The questions are classified into two categories — “digital attitude” to check the extent to which they are familiar with digital technology, and “digital device and technology application” to check if they can use digital devices in everyday life.
The level of the trainees is classified into low, middle and high depending on their scores and score distribution. The platform connects the trainees with customized education tailored to meet their respective competencies.
The trainees can undergo self-regulated learning by comparing the change in their competency before and after education.
Digital badges divided into bronze, silver, gold and diamond depending on the number of subjects the trainees complete are given to those who finish the course.
A data competency diagnosis tool for children and teenagers will be added to the Edutech Campus next year.
