SEOUL, Oct. 7 (Korea Bizwire) — The Seoul Metropolitan Government completed on Wednesday a public design project setting up shade canopies and mat bags to help visitors enjoy the Han River Park while maintaining proper social distancing.
The 15 ‘Cloud Canopies’ set up at 15 locations throughout the Han River Park in Yeouido, western Seoul, are 2.4 meters in height with a 1.7 to 2.2 meter-wide circular canopy on top where a few people can get away from the sunlight.
Each canopy is 3.35 meters apart from the other, encouraging visitors to maintain proper social distancing as they enjoy the park.
The ‘HAN:REBIRTH’ is a bag that is also a picnic blanket. Recycled from used yacht sails, the mat bags were developed jointly by Seoul’s city government and Overlab, a startup for upcycled manufacturing.
The mat bags are now available at a convenience store at the Han River Park, and are priced at 20,900 won (US$17.56).
