SEOUL, July 8 (Korea Bizwire) — The Seoul Metropolitan Government said Thursday that it will develop a new artificial intelligence (AI) service that automatically searches and deletes video footage of sexual crime online.
The service is capable of tracking down videos of sexual crime online with high accuracy, sending out requests to take the videos down.
The service makes use of video, audio and text analysis technology, which allows it to recognize the victim’s face in videos and carry out in-depth analysis using audio frequency and verbal conversations.
The city explained that the technology is more accurate than any other previous methods.
The institute also plans to develop an AI-based automatic search feature to track down websites related to sexual crimes to prevent the videos from being uploaded again.
The new services will be developed until early next year, and are expected to be used at the Seoul Support Center for Prevention of Digital Sexual Crime, which opened in March, as the center’s primary tracking program.
