SEOUL, July 15 (Korea Bizwire)Anyone carrying a tumbler or a personal cup can get free water from local cafes and restaurants in Seoul without having to order food or drinks.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government on Friday began the Oasis Seoul Project, which involves cafes and restaurants offering free water to prevent heatstroke among outdoor workers and reduce the use of disposable products.

A total of 734 stores from nine major cafe franchises including Starbucks and A Twosome Place will be participating in the initiative, as well as 216 restaurants.

All 603 Starbucks stores in Seoul will join the project.

Aside from cafes and restaurants, the city has also received voluntary applications from 67 local sports centers and academies that will also participate.

Anyone with a tumbler with the Oasis Seoul sticker can visit a local vendor participating in the project to get some free water. For those interested, the Smart Seoul Map displays the location of all project member stores.
