SEOUL, Jan. 31 (Korea Bizwire) — Seoul Fashion Week, marking its 25th anniversary, will kick off at Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) on February 5, offering the first glimpse of upcoming fall and winter fashion trends for 2025.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced five key highlights for this year’s event: an expanded designer lineup and presentations, the Seoul Fashion Forum, a trade show, collaborations with promising international fashion brands, and public events.
The fashion week will feature globally recognized brands including Ink, Youser, and Ajobyajo. Fashion technologist Hannah Shin will open the event, while brands such as Caruso, Big Park, and Sling Stone will present off-site shows outside the DDP Art Hall.
This year’s event introduces new presentation formats beyond traditional lookbooks, incorporating music, lighting, exhibitions, and mini shows. The Seoul Fashion Forum, scheduled for opening day at DDP Art Hall, will bring together fashion industry executives, designers, and media professionals, with global journalist and fashion authority James Fallon as keynote speaker.
The event will welcome 103 international buyers from 25 countries, including representatives from France’s La Samaritaine, Kuwait’s Harvey Nichols, Thailand’s Siam Piwat Group, high-end retail chain Club 21, and online fashion platform Ssense. The city aims to secure 8.1 billion won in purchase orders, up from 7.7 billion won in the 2025 Spring/Summer season.
The trade show, accessible through pre-registration on the Seoul Fashion Week website until February 3, will help promote promising brands and expand their distribution channels. A showroom tour will also be arranged for buyers.
Special collaborations include a united show of Japanese street brands scheduled for February 9 at DDP Art Hall 2, along with presentations organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency.
For fashion enthusiasts, a limited number of public tickets will be distributed – 350 tickets total, with 10 to 20 tickets available per show on a first-come, first-served basis one hour before each show. Daily break-dancing performances will add to the festivities.
All runway shows will be livestreamed on Seoul Fashion Week’s official YouTube channel.
