Seoul Introduces Tips to Enjoy ‘Goblin Night Markets’

FDFDFSEOUL, Aug. 7 (Korea Bizwire)When it comes to night markets in Seoul, there is more to do than just wait in a long line leading to a popular food truck.

A number of ways to enjoy the city’s ‘goblin night markets’ were introduced by the Seoul Metropolitan Government on August 3.

On Fridays and Saturdays, night market information centers in Yeouido and Banpo turn into rooftop coffee shops, offering stunning night views of the Han River.

The Banpo night market features a special gathering place for urban office workers and college students.

For only 1,000 won per person, you can sit at a table under a canopy tent. Two groups of people are selected on a first come first served basis on Fridays and Saturdays; and prior reservations have to be made on the event’s official Facebook page.

At the Yeouido and Banpo night markets, there’s no need to wait in line for food as ‘express passes’ allowing the holders to bypass lines are offered to five lucky individuals every day.

At the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), a special service offers pre-arranged food deliveries for a specific time.

The service, which is offered in the first and third weeks of every month, allows customers to choose from some thirty dishes that can be ordered and delivered at a requested time through on site reservations.

On August 19, a lantern festival will be held by the Cheonggyecheon night market, with attendees carrying special ‘wish lanterns’ for a stroll along the stream.
