Seoul Offering ‘Free Visiting College Education’ to Workers for the First Time

SEOUL, Feb. 25 (Korea Bizwire)The Seoul Metropolitan Government has announced that a so-called ‘Visiting College Education’ program will be offered near subway stations or at work for employees at participating companies.

Seoul reported on Sunday that it will run ‘Visiting College Education’ and ‘Afterwork College Education’ programs for the first time starting in May after teaming up with a number of local companies.

The programs are targeting busy workers.

‘Visiting College Education’ is an educational service where lecturers are sent to visit private companies.

Hana Tour Co., South Korea’s leading tour agency, plans to do a test run with a class focused on creativity, leadership and humanities needed for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

The company will allow employees to participate in lectures during working hours.

‘Afterwork College Education’ is a program that provides a place to study near a subway station.

With the cooperation of Geumcheon District, the pilot education program will be held at G-Valley near the Gasan Digital Complex Station, where small businesses are gathered.

The city government hopes that many Seoul-based companies will participate in the program as it is a great opportunity for tired and busy employees to take a class in humanities.
