Seoul Opens Wheelchair Accessible Garden

SEOUL, Sept. 18 (Korea Bizwire)For the first time in South Korea, Seoul will run a garden for the disabled.

Nowon District in Seoul said Tuesday it will run a barrier-free facility that will allow even those in wheelchairs to garden.

The 120-square-meter garden is designed to allow knees into planting boxes for those who are confined to a wheelchair.

The height of the box is also set at 70 centimeters, so that even older individuals who cannot bend their back can tend to their plants.

Furthermore, to make it easier for wheelchairs to move, the district has set up a watering facility that can be made into blocks and set with timers.
