SEOUL, May 22 (Korea Bizwire) – Seoul Plaza, which fronts City Hall, will be transformed into a circus venue from today as it embarks on a 7-day circus event offering a series of performances every day during lunch time until May 30.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced yesterday that a variety of circus shows will take place at Seoul Plaza in the city center, including tightrope walking, pantomime and art circus.

Starting with juggling and magic shows, Project Luminary will perform aerial circus arts on the eastern side of the plaza, while circus troupe Performance Factory is scheduled to give a special performance.

Another South Korean circus crew, Bongnjoule, which translates into pole and wire in Korean, a fitting name as its members specialize in circus performances using poles and wires with traditional Korean music, will also make an appearance at Seoul’s circus event.

The 7-day long circus is part of Seoul’s 2017 project to use Seoul Plaza as a venue to host cultural events until October of this year, with plans to produce shows of a different genre each month.
