SEOUL, March 21 (Korea Bizwire)The Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office announced that it will launch an attendance and return-home support service for the socially vulnerable starting from Monday.

Under this service, those who have psychological or physical difficulty going to the prosecutor’s office for investigation or returning home after investigation can request support from the prosecutor concerned or human rights protection officers.

In such cases, human rights protection officers should make a decision on whether or not to extend support by referring to the opinion of the prosecutor concerned.

This service can be used by the people with mobility difficulties, such as elderly and disabled people, those who need emotional and psychological support, including the victims of sexual violence and stalking crimes, and those who are not accustomed to domestic criminal procedures, including foreigners.

In addition, persons involved in cases where the protection of portrait rights is needed can request support when they attend or return home.

In case of their attendance, human rights protection officers can accompany them to the prosecutor’s room, the interrogation room and the waiting room. When they return home, human rights protection officers accompany them to the entrance of the prosecutor’s office.
