SEOUL, Korea, Feb 17 (Korea Bizwire) – Have you ever seen a bunch of “love locks” in Seoul’s N Tower that were hung and locked by so many couples who want their love last forever? Or seen a café on a Han River bridge featured on a drama where a couple shared their lovely eye contacts?

Those are already famous places which captured many Korean Wave fans’ eyes in TV shows and now they are ready to get more spotlights.

The Seoul metropolitan government decided to aggressively promote 120 such tourist places on and off-line to attract millions of K-culture fans to Seoul.

Included in the list are streets, cafes, restaurants and even hair salons which are already famous for their TV debuts or places where Korean celebrities often visit, so lucky people can encounter the real figures of them.

To collect the list, the city government reviewed some 270 locations in Seoul which attracted many domestic and foreign tourists and finalized the list by consulting with some 30 Seoulites and foreigners living in Seoul.

The list will be disclosed on February 18 at Visit Seoul (www.visitseoul.net), Seoul’s official tourism site, in Chinese, English and Japanese. Also, brochures on the list will be distributed at information centers, hotels and airports.

To highlight the places, the city government will set up photo zones and signboards explaining the places in each location, and let the tourists get stamps at 12 main attractions like N Seoul Tower, Tongin Market and Seoul City Hall. Tourists will be awarded gifts by the number of stamps.

A Seoul official said, “Seoul will induce more tourists not through the existing cultural assets but by the places they are accustomed to by watching Korean dramas or movies. It will be a good chance for K-pop or K-culture fans to visit the places they have seen on TV.”
