SEOUL, July 15 (Korea Bizwire) – The Seoul city government said Monday it will launch an international tech exposition in October with an ambitious goal of turning the event into a platform similar to the influential tech trade show CES in the coming years.
The Seoul Smart Life Week (SLW), which is set to open Oct. 10 through 12 at the COEX mall in southern Seoul, will offer a platform where cities around the world can gather to share technology trends and ideas, and promote innovative companies to the world.
In January, Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon vowed to develop the SLW into an event on par with CES within three years during his visit to CES 2024 in Las Vegas.
The programs will consist of exhibitions, a Seoul smart city award ceremony, and international forums and conferences.
The exhibition hall will be divided into a “showroom” where participants can experience cutting-edge lifestyles inside a future city according to themes. The company exhibition will feature state-of-the-art technologies and products by companies in such sectors as mobility, health care, beauty and robotics.
Various international forums, including the Mayor’s Forum, Global Chief Digital Officer Forum and a conference to share the achievements of the smart city project, will also take place.
