Seoul’s Nanum Car Service to Team Up with Other Car-sharing Businesses

SEOUL, Jul. 1 (Korea Bizwire)Seoul’s Nanum Car, a car sharing service, plans to reach 10,000 shared cars by 2022.

The city announced on Sunday that Nanum Car will join hands with Delivery Car and People Car to work with four car sharing businesses.

Nanum Car, currently offering 4,700 shared cars, plans to reach 10,000 cars by 2022 to settle in as a means of ‘quasi-public transportation’.

Seoul also plans to create Nanum Car-only parking spaces at public parking lots located throughout the city by 2022.

In addition, the city plans to test run the new ‘Dongnae Car’ service that allows users to access Nanum Cars close to home starting next year.

Dongnae Car will offer a 50 percent discount to anyone that yields a parking space near their home to Nanum Car.

Nanum Car, established in 2013, has been attracting more users over the past few years, going from 70,000 users in 2015 to 210,000 users in 2018.
