SEOUL, April 1 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean fashion retailer Shinsegae International Inc. said Thursday it has donated crayons made from recycled lipstick to Child Fund Korea, a Seoul-based charity.
The crayons were made with 16,940 used lipsticks. Two lipstick tubes can create one crayon.
Some 2,700 sets of crayons including 1,700 sets of lipstick crayons and 1,000 sets of crayons made with used, leftover crayons have been sent to 71 childcare institutions.
Shinsegae International also donated 10,000 sets of cosmetics products, worth 1.2 billion won (US$986,440), to G Foundation, a non-governmental organization for international cooperation and development.
Each cosmetics set is comprised of cleansing foam, lotion, a mask pack and others. They will be sent to single moms and single-parent households.
