SEOUL, Jan. 25 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean vaccine maker SK Bioscience Co. will be assigned to the role of managing and distributing COVID-19 vaccines for the coronavirus through an Internet of Things (IoT)-based integrated control center.
The company will be bringing in the first batches of Pfizer Inc.’s vaccines, which will require cold storage.
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency recently announced that the distribution and management of vaccines will be carried out by SK Bioscience.
The company will be in charge of distributing vaccines from Pfizer and AstraZeneca Plc. scheduled for import early next month.
It will establish a cold chain system for distribution, monitoring temperatures and distribution routes in real-time.
The company will join hands with m2Cloud Inc., a South Korean IoT security firm, to set up an IoT-based integrated control center.
