SEOUL, March 3 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean builder SK Ecoplant Co. said Thursday it has secured an additional electronic waste and waste battery recycling base in the North American market through its overseas subsidiary.
TES Envirocorp, a Singapore-based electronic waste management solution provider acquired by SK ecoplant last year, completed and started operating an IT asset disposition (ITAD) service plant with a floor space of about 3,700 square meters in Las Vegas.
The new plant is TES’ fourth American base following other facilities in Seattle, Atlanta and Fredericksburg.
When disposing of IT assets such as smartphones, PCs and data center equipment, this plant will be mainly responsible for completely destroying the information stored in the assets.
ITAD procedures cover not only the destruction of stored information but also the eco-friendly processing of IT assets through recycling and reuse.
The ultimate goal of the ITAD procedure is to minimize the waste of IT assets and to promote recycling.
At present, TES operates waste battery recycling facilities in France, China and Singapore.
