SEOUL, Jan. 2 (Korea Bizwire) — SK hynix Inc. CEO Kwak Noh-jung said Thursday the company aims to achieve another quantum leap in artificial intelligence chip technology in 2025, continuing what he described as SK hynix’s “Renaissance.”
“It is time to move beyond the achievements of the past year in every aspect,” Kwak said in his New Year’s message. “We must advance to become a top-tier company by strengthening our capabilities and addressing weaknesses through constant innovation.”
SK hynix has experienced significant growth in recent years, driven by surging demand for high-bandwidth memory chips fueled by the expansion of the generative AI market.
According to local analyst reports, SK hynix is forecast to post an all-time high of 23.2 trillion won in operating profit for 2024, beating the previous record of 20.8 trillion won set in 2018.
“In 2024, we made history in the semiconductor industry thanks to the collective efforts of our employees and close cooperation with our group affiliates,” Kwak said, expressing gratitude to the workforce.
He emphasized the critical role of technology innovation, urging the company to focus on developing and delivering cutting-edge products to the market quickly and efficiently.
