SEOUL, Nov. 13 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korea’s largest petrochemical company has set up its own communication channel in the form of an online media business to relay company information and other industry news.
SK Innovation Co. stated yesterday it had created SKinno News in response to a need to directly communicate the latest news stemming from its corporate activities, which includes corporate social responsibility efforts and the creation of shared infrastructure.
SK Innovation will provide various types of content across seven categories.
The website will also play the role of an “info-hub” that allows users to check the latest news in the industry including oil prices, press releases and columns written by industry experts.
Rather than simply uploading two to three blog posts, the website will post updates in the form of actual news articles.
Users will be allowed to write comments at the end of each piece using their social media accounts.
One SK Innovation official said that the new measure was a way for the company to accurately communicate relevant messages to the public in the face of a flood of information available to individuals.
“This is a form of ‘branded media’ that is being adopted by many local corporations and government agencies these days,” said the official.
