SEOUL, Jan. 10 (Korea Bizwire) — A food truck appeared in front of the Las Vegas Convention Center on Thursday (local time), where Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022 was taking place.
It was brought in by SK Inc., the holding company of South Korean conglomerate SK Group, to introduce the newest food tech. The food truck served hot dogs made with alternative meat and ice cream made from milk protein.
Food has been included at this year’s CES for the very first time. SK believes that the alternative meat market has the potential for exponential growth as it caters to the need for carbon reduction and food security.
SK invested in U.S. food startup Perfect Day in 2020, jumping into the alternative food market. The company has also invested in alternative protein firm Nature’s Fynd and British plant-based protein company Meatless Farm.
