SK Telecom and Korea University Join Hands to Build Metaverse School Campus

SEOUL, July 16 (Korea Bizwire)SK Telecom Co. and Korea University have announced a new partnership to build a smart, connected, integrated campus using virtual technology.

SK Telecom will set up a metaverse campus at the university.

Students will be able to access ifland, the company’s metaverse platform, to hold conferences, engage in student activity, and carry out team projects virtually.

The company aims to integrate a mobile identification system into the virtual platform by the end of this year, using a blockchain-based initial application.

Currently, students are required to physically carry various cards to access student halls or libraries.

The company aims to replace this with a virtual identification system, which will allow students to access various school facilities using a single mobile device.
