Participating for the third consecutive year in the Asia’s largest ICT exhibition, the company intends to share its innovative technologies and services, suggest a future direction for mobile operators, and seek business partnerships with mobile operators across Asia, especially at a time when the region is rapidly growing in the ICT industry both in its size and importance.

At MAE 2014, SK Telecom will showcase diverse ICT convergence products and solutions designed to enrich people’s everyday lives: Health-On, Smart Robot, Smart Beam, Indoor LBS, Smart Air, and Smart Green Button.

Health-On is an integrated health care service that helps people lead healthier lives by giving personalized health-related consultation from health/nutrition/fitness professionals based on the data recorded via an activity tracker worn by the user to measure his/her physical activities. With the B2C service launched in January 2014, now the company’s Health-On service is available to both its enterprise and individual customers.

Smart Robots named Atti and Albert make learning easier and more interesting for children by using smartphones as its brain (i.e. memory, processing and display functions). Atti, designed for 4 to 7 year-old children, offers diverse educational contents including language, cognition, music, and dance, and promotes interactive learning through its voice recognition and motion/gesture recognition. Albert, SK Telecom’s first kids learning robot that provides interactive games and educational contents, is currently sold in Korea.

Smart Beam, the world’s smallest pico projector for all HDMI devices (smartphones, tablet PCs and laptops), enables projection of diverse contents on a nearby wall or ceiling. Smart Beam sets itself apart from other projectors through its highly portable design, powerful audio and high-quality image. The cube-shaped (each side measuring 4.5cm) projector boasts an output of about 35-40 lumens, the brightest among projectors in the same size range. Smart Beam is currently sold in ten different countries including China and Brazil with plans to be further expanded to other global markets.

Indoor LBS is a platform that allows developers to create location-based services including route guidance and location-based commerce utilizing diverse indoor positioning technologies such as Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, and beacons.

Smart Air is a small device that measures the amount of fine/ultrafine particles and Co2, and sends the measured information to a smartphone application through Bluetooth. SK Telecom completed a prototype as of June 2014 and plans to launch the device in the third quarter this year in Korea, China, and Japan.

Smart Green Button, launched in Korea in April 2014, is a small button-shaped, battery-powered product that is designed to communicate with the Smart Green Button application on the user’s smartphone via Bluetooth technology. When the user simply pushes the button, it automatically dials  to  pre-defined phone number (of guardians) and enables the call receiver to immediately determine the situation the user is in by listening to the sound or voices delivered through the smartphones. Any sound that occurs during the situation will be recorded in the server. While listening to the situation, the receiver can call 112(National Police Call Center) by pressing the ‘*’ or ‘#’ button and activate three-way calling between the user, call receiver and the police.

Besides SK Telecom, SK Telecom’s business partners and start-ups in Korea will also showcase their innovative technologies and services at the exhibition booth. SK Telecom invites its business partners to GSMA events every year to support their global expansion.
