SEOUL, Apr. 2 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korean mobile carrier SK Telecom Co. said Tuesday it will collaborate with retail giant Shinsegae to develop a next-generation retail business model based on 5G and an advanced ICT platform.
SK Telecom and Shinsegae I&C Co., Shinsegae’s IT subsidiary, signed a memorandum of understanding to develop a new retail business model that encompasses shopping, e-commerce, payment and security.
SK Telecom said it will adopt its augmented and virtual reality technology to blend digital and in-store elements to create seamless shopping experiences and develop an easy payment system and related security solutions.
They will also explore ways to utilize big data to provide customized services and better handle customer needs online and offline, they said.
