SEOUL, Aug. 10 (Korea Bizwire)South Korea’s top mobile carrier SK Telecom Co. plans to hold an event to celebrate Samsung Electronics Co.’s new phablet Galaxy Note 20 debut via a ‘drive-thru’ service.

On Thursday morning, a day before the Galaxy Note 20’s official pre-order opening, a preliminary event will be held at Bitplex Mall located in Wangsimni Station to open up service for the new Galaxy Note 20.

Previously, these events were held offline, inviting guests to a certain location. This time, however, the host will implement a ‘drive-thru’ system in response to the ongoing trend of so-called ‘untact’ practices.

Customers uncomfortable with the idea of visiting offline stores and fearful of the coronavirus will now be allowed to drive to the nearest shopping mall to receive a Galaxy Note 20 without having to leave their car.

SK Telecom will give out 20 Galaxy Note 20s to winners of a lottery event held on Facebook and other social media channels.

Invited guests who wish to go to the offline ceremony can use T Map Taxi, SK Telecom’s taxi-hailing service, with the return journey home also included in the deal.
