SEOUL, June 20 (Korea Bizwire) – Compact cars are the most popular in the South Korean used-car market, according to a new industry report.
Online open market SK Encar said on Monday that of all types of used-cars, compact cars took the shortest time to sell, spending 28.4 days on average on offer during the last two months.
Mid-size used cars on average spent 36 days until they were sold to a new owner, while medium-small size cars took 37 days.
When broken by model, KIA’s All New Morning 2017 proved most popular, spending an average of 13.4 days on the market before being sold.
Following closely was Chevrolet’s All New Matiz 2009 and the Audi A4 2014, taking 16.8 and 17.6 days, respectively, before finding a new owner.
“The All New Morning has high marketability with a line-up that boasts a wide range of models, which is proving popular in both the new and used-car market,” an official at SK Encar said.
The All New Matiz also proved popular among young consumers and those looking to own more than one car due to its affordability.
Amid growing interest in renewable energy cars, Hyundai’s Sonata Hybrid 2016 was among the popular models sold on SK Encar.
